Escondido one of 30 fire safe councils given grant

The Escondido Fire Safe Council was one of 30 local councils to be given a total of $276,000 in Project SAFE grants. The Escondido Fire Safe Council was given a grant for $10,000. The grants were announced June 22 by theu00a0 San Diego Regional Fire Foundation. The grants areu00a0 aid in wildfire prevention and preparedness, including community education to make their neighborhoods safer. Fire Safe Councils are community-led, volunteer-based organizations dedicated to protecting homes and communities from wildfires.
